Supplemental prenatal and postpartum care
Some individuals may prefer giving birth in a hospital setting due to their comfort level but still desire the holistic guidance of a midwife. In certain cases, pregnancies may be classified as high-risk and it is safer for the delivery to take place in a hospital. However, individuals with high-risk pregnancies may still desire the nutritional, herbal, and emotional support that a midwife can offer.
Canary Nest Midwifery offers the Co-Care Service Package, which is specifically designed to provide midwifery care and support throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period for individuals who are also receiving obstetric or physician care during their pregnancies.
During the prenatal office visits, the focus is primarily on birth preparation, nutrition, herbal remedies for common discomforts, and emotional support for the entire childbirth process. Since individuals opting for co-care will already be undergoing standard prenatal care with a physician, the prenatal office visits are typically non-clinical.
Following the birth, the Co-Care Service Package also includes baby weight checks, lactation support, and nurturing postpartum care that can be provided in the comfort and convenience of your home. This eliminates the need to deal with the stress of leaving the house with your newborn, as the care is brought directly to you.
The Co-Care Package encompasses monthly prenatal office visits throughout your pregnancy and three in-home postpartum and newborn visits within the first three weeks.
