About Mary

Welcome! I am Mary (she/they) a Certified Professional Midwife, licensed in Kentucky, operating a solo home birth practice based in Pike County, Kentucky. My midwifery journey is deeply rooted in serving women and birthing people who seek autonomy over their reproductive choices while remaining low-risk under the expert care of a community midwife. This vision comes to life through a trusting, open partnership between the family and the midwife.

I believe in your body's innate ability to grow and birth a baby. My goal is to support you in the most intentional and holistic way, honoring and supporting your choices for your birth. I also believe in the healing power of the natural environment we live in.

Here is a brief overview of my training. I am always up for sharing my North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) portfolio.  I am currently compiling a comprehensive list of all my continuing education units (CEUs), including topics such as tongue tie assessment, inclusive care, Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC), and Breech Birth.

- Certified Professional Midwife: Credential attained from NARM in January 2023. My apprenticeship followed the Portfolio Evaluation Process (PEP) from March 2014 to October 2022.
- NARM Bridge Certification: Completed (50 additional CEUs) in March 2023.
- Wisconsin Licensure: Obtained in March 2023. Only obtained because there was a loophole for Kentucky Licensure for those who completed the PEP instead of a Midwifery Education Accredited Council school.
- **Kentucky Licensure**: Obtained in April 2023.
- **Birth Experience**: Participated in over 115 births since starting my apprenticeship in 2014.

One of my driving passions is ensuring access to quality care in areas with limited options. I have an innate passion for continual learning and firmly believe that acquiring knowledge is not just empowering but also essential for informed consent and autonomy.

Thank you for considering me as part of your birth journey. Let's work together to create a safe, empowering, and personalized birth experience.
